Digital Hearing Aid Technology:
This computer-based technology produces a cleaner, clearer, and more natural sound quality by processing sound through a programmable microchip.  The level of sound reaching the microchip is quantified and the aid automatically adjusts the sound to make it audible and comfortable to the wearer.  The programming is based on a prescription that is created based on your hearing loss.  Fine tuning adjustments are made based on subjective and objective measures.

Conventional Hearing Aid Technology:
This is the original hearing aid technology which uses pre-set processing circuits that are selected during the manufacturing stage.  These aids do not have the ability to quantify and process sound based on the level that passes through the microphone.  These aids often require a volume control so that the wearer can adjust the aid based on the environment.  Minimal adjustments are available to fine tune the sound of these  instruments.  This type of aid is good for those individuals who need basic amplification to hear speech and environmental sounds; not those who are active in multiple environments.

Available features:
-    Multiple memories or programs
-    Automatic telephone function
-    Volume control
